Panasonic launches new epilator

Skin in the game

Panasonic is a big name in electronics, photography and entertainment. Founded over a century ago in Osaka, Japan, the brand is known for the perfectionist quality of their consumer electronics. Because of our standing in Japan and our previous expertise with beauty and skincare we connected. Panasonic then trusted us to launch the new line of epilators.

Panasonic is a household name, so we were understandably excited to begin a relationship with the Japanese company. The goal was to launch the new EY Epilator Series, first in Europe, then rolled out worldwide. The beauty market is competitive, so we needed a campaign to stand out. But that’s what we excel here at zooom.

Creating connections

The goal was to disrupt the beauty and skincare market with Panasonic's new EY Epilator Series. So, an exciting communication idea was needed to launch the product with a big bang on relevant channels. Challenge accepted - with zooom you can be confident that we work across disciplines.
Firstly, we had to focus on what separates the Panasonic epilator from the competition. We brainstormed how to grab the customers attention, how to stand out in a crowded market. The innovative and efficient double disk technology was the perfect place to start. The claim ‘DOUBLE DISK. SINGLE STROKE. ZERO FUSS combined with a cool visual approach (reflecting a ZERO FUSS attitude), was our answer to this. Based on the idea, we created an omni-channel campaign, covering communication assets for Panasonic Website, Amazon A++ Premium page as well as social media content.

Beauty In Use

With the fine-tuned communication concept and a content shortlist, all was left was to shoot the product in use. For this we made a trip to Hamburg to team up with beauty photographer Florian Grill, to produce high-end photo and video footage. With the assets prepared we headed back to Austria and began tailoring the product for each of the marketing channels.

Beauty In Use

Hands-on deck

With the photos and videos, we focused on wholesome images of perfect skin, combined with a complementary color scheme and typeface. Initially only planned for the European market, the client rolled out the campaign worldwide – goal accomplished.
