From vision to celebration: Mammut Photo Contest

This summer, Mammut invited the world to take their best shot and share “Your Kind of Summer” – and the response was nothing short of extraordinary. Over 10,000 submissions poured in from more than 80 countries, spanning professional and amateur photographers alike. From alpine sunrises to canyon descents, hidden gems to must-see landmarks, the images captured the spirit of adventure in every form.

With a multi-million reach across global social and traditional media, the campaign proved to be a true celebration of creativity, community, and the outdoors.

From concept and creative direction, photo contest & judging management, content production to international news distribution, zooom led the charge – delivering a high-impact opener to ignite entries and engagement worldwide.

Category Winners: From mountains into bustling streets

For the announcement of the six category winners, we brought the photos into the bustling streets of London and Paris to show city dwellers what a Mammut kind of summer looks like! The result? Proof that fresh air beats city crowds any day, and a reminder to spend more time in the outdoors.

Each winning photo brought a unique perspective – from breathtaking alpine scenes to authentic everyday moments – united under the theme of celebrating the outdoors.

The Grand Finale

The Overall Winner Announcement was designed to be as iconic as the contest itself. With zooom leading the video production, Mammut CEO Heiko Schäfer unveiled the winning photo in a one-of-a-kind concept featuring a paraglider and a custom flag. The announcement truly reached new heights. Literally.

As a reward, the Overall Winner will receive a number of valuable prizes such as a Leica SL2-S Camera Kit – but above all, a priceless experience: An exclusive shooting day with legendary adventure photographer Chris Burkard.

New Partnerships and Shared Adventures

The Mammut Photo Contest 2025 was more than a competition – it was a global summer campaign packed with opportunities to engage, create, and share.

At zooom, we were proud to lead the charge across every aspect of the project, integrating partners that joined throughout the campaign such as Leica, SWISS, ZERMATTERS, Peli, Angelbird, COOPH, Capture One and adventure photographer & filmmaker Chris Burkard. The international judging panel brought together experts from the photography, media and sports industry such as professional photographers Krystle Wright, Will Saunders and Oskar Bakke, Director of Photography at NZZ Gilles Steinmann, Todd Lawson, photo editor at Mountainlifemedia, as well as ESPN Journalist Alyssa Roenigk.

The photo contest quickly fostered a dynamic network, connecting Mammut Athletes such as Adam Ondra and Jérémie Heitz, as well as influencers like Frauki and Zac Alsop, with participants in the Finders Keepers challenge — combining digital storytelling with real-world activations.

This approach paired visual partnerships and strong editorial coverage to position Mammut at the heart of authentic outdoor storytelling.
