From idea to global impact

The idea behind it was simple: invite outdoor enthusiasts everywhere to take their best shot and share "Your Kind of Summer." From that first idea to the final winner reveal, zooom led every aspect of the Mammut Photo Contest 2025 - from concept and creative direction to contest & judging management, content production, influencer strategy and international news distribution.

From launch to final reveal, the campaign generated over 10,000 photo submissions from more than 80 countries and achieved a multi-million reach across global media. It became a worldwide movement celebrating photography, community, and the outdoors, proving adventure truly connects across borders.

Kicking off with strong social momentum, the behind-the-scenes footage from the contest launch video alone reached almost 6 million views.

Starting strong: CEO Heiko Schäfer on the Eiger

To launch the Mammut Photo Contest 2025, zooom conceived and produced a daring opener. We hauled a desk up the Eiger North Face and seated CEO Heiko Schäfer behind it, asking a bold question: “What does it take to inspire the next great photo?” A striking blend of creativity and storytelling that allowed the cinematic video to become a viral success, setting the tone for a campaign with both altitude and attitude.

Taking the contest outdoors

With the Finders Keepers Challenge, zooom turned digital engagement into real-world adventure. Designed as a global scavenger hunt, adventure-ready camera kits were hidden in iconic locations worldwide, inviting participants to follow one simple rule: find it, keep it, and share your story. From Canada to Switzerland, the contest quickly fostered a dynamic global network, connecting Mammut Athletes such as Adam Ondra and Jérémie Heitz, as well as influencers like Katie Burrell and Zac Also, with participants around the world. Concepting, influencer management, logistics, social strategy, and global rollout were all strategically led by zooom.

Reaching new heights: the Grand Finale

For the winners’ announcement, zooom transformed the reveal into a spectacle. We brought the photos into the bustling streets of London and Paris to show city dwellers what the Mammut ‘Your Kind of Summer’ looks like! The result? Proof that fresh air beats city crowds any day, and a reminder to spend more time in the outdoors.

And for the grand finale, Mammut CEO Heiko Schäfer quite literally took things higher, unveiling the overall winner while paragliding with a custom Mammut flag. A spectacular close to a campaign that truly soared.

At zooom, we were proud to lead the charge across every aspect of the project, integrating partners that joined throughout the campaign such as Leica, SWISS, ZERMATTERS, Peli, Angelbird, COOPH, Capture One and adventure photographer & filmmaker Chris Burkard. The international judging panel brought together experts from the photography, media and sports industry such as professional photographers Krystle Wright, Will Saunders and Oskar Bakke, Director of Photography at NZZ Gilles Steinmann, Todd Lawson, photo editor at Mountainlifemedia, as well as ESPN Journalist Alyssa Roenigk.

From first shot to final winner, the Mammut “Your Kind of Summer” Photo Contest has proven: adventure is best when shared.
